GM’s Most Capable Trucks Ever: The All-New Silverado HD and Next-Generation Sierra HD

The 2020 model year brings with it All-New Heavy Duty trucks from Chevrolet and GMC. These new trucks come ready to work with heavy-duty powertrain options, powerful towing capacities, and much more.

The All-New Chevrolet Silverado HD is the strongest, most capable Silverado HD ever built. The Silverado 3500HD provides 52% more towing capability over 2500HD – tow with confidence thanks to a max trailering capacity of 35,500 pounds and a max payload of 7,442 pounds. With a cargo volume of 83.5 cubic feet and max torque of 910 lb-ft., Silverado HD is both practical and powerful.

A segment-first Advanced Trailering System lets you keep track of customized trailer profiles on both your Chevrolet Infotainment system and myChevrolet mobile application. Set a pre-departure checklist, run diagnostics on exterior trailer lighting, monitor tire pressure and temperature, plus much more with this new system. Silverado HD brings a number of precision tools for towing, including StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System, available Digital Variable Steering Assist, and Auto Grade Braking.

What’s under the hood of a new Silverado HD? Choose between an all-new 6.6L V8 gas engine or a 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 from the legendary Duramax engine series. The gas engine generates 401 horsepower, 464 lb.-ft. of torque, and is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Chevrolet’s Duramax engine brings 445 horsepower, 910 lb.-ft. of torque, and is paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. Carry your cargo with confidence thanks to the Silverado HD’s high-strength steel cargo bed. It comes with 12 standard-tie downs, available LED lighting, and an available 120-volt outlet.

The Next Generation GMC Sierra HD is engineered to conquer with a towing capacity of up to 35,500 pounds plus a larger drive shaft and rear axle for improved durability and strength. Featuring many of the Silverado HD’s new features, Sierra HD goes even further with impressive features like the MultiPro Tailgate and available 15” Head-Up Display.

GMC’s six-function MultiPro Tailgate is the world’s first of its kind, available exclusively on Sierra HD. MultiPro improves cargo-box accessibility with six different functions to make loading and unloading easier than ever before. Primary Gate Load Stop is great for preventing larger items from sliding. Lower the inner gate for easier access to the cargo bed. Add an available MultiPro Sound System, perfect for camping or tailgating. No matter the task, Sierra HD’s MultiPro tailgate is up for the challenge.

Sierra HD is the first Heavy Duty pickup in its class to offer a multicolour, 15 inch diagonal Head-Up Display. Keep your eyes on the road while still getting all the key information you need. Speed, active safety information, navigation, and more can be projected directly on to the windshield.
