2020 Corvette Brings a New Convertible Design, Advanced Track Performance, and Over-The-Air Update Technology

The Next Generation Corvette is all-new, and with it comes a number of incredible new features. As we get closer to seeing the 2020 Corvette Stingray arrive on dealership lots, we’re finding out more about the all-new Vette.

Past Corvette generations have featured a number of iconic convertible designs, and Chevrolet is honouring that heritage with the first-ever production retractable hardtop. The hardtop design flows seamlessly into the vehicle’s body and doesn’t compromise storage capability. The 2020 Corvette is the most track-capable Vette ever produced, and performance remains incredible whether the top is up or down.

The two-piece hardtop can be activated by drivers at speeds up to 48 km/hr, weighing only 77 lbs. Powered by six electric motors, the new hardtop is also incredibly durable. Choose your favourite style: body-colour for a sleek, cohesive look or Carbon Flash to make a bold impression.

Taking your 2020 Corvette to the local track? Drivers will be able to take advantage of the Corvette’s new Launch Control and Burnout Mode! The vehicle’s new mid-engine design makes it perfect for the track and we encourage drivers to use these performance features only when safe and legal.

The 2020 Corvette, alongside the 2020 Cadillac CT5, features GM’s first-ever over-the-air update capability. GM’s Global B electrical architecture allows for greater connectivity, meaning vehicle updates over the internet are now possible! 2020 Corvette drivers will be able to receive new software updates, updated chassis controls, and more without even setting foot in the service department.
