All-Electric Hummer Announced by GMC

The Hummer nameplate is back and already making an impression, generating buzz around the world. Introducing the First-Ever GMC Hummer EV, set to be fully unveiled on May 5, 2020!

The iconic Hummer nameplate has become associated with large powerful SUVs based on military-grade Humvees. This time, the Hummer returns as an EV that eschews gas in favour of the impressive performance and efficiency of an electric battery. Although the vehicle’s exact look is still uncertain, GMC has announced the Hummer EV will be a truck. Whether it takes the shape of a traditional pickup, a large SUV based on a truck platform, or something different entirely, remains to be seen.

This all-electric super truck will not only be emission-free, it will also be incredibly powerful. With up to 1000 horsepower, up to 11,500 lb.-ft of torque, and a 0-97 km/hr time of just 3 seconds, the GMC Hummer EV is in a class all by itself both on- and off-road. The GMC Hummer EV will be American-made at GM’s Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant in Michigan.

Details are still scarce regarding the GMC Hummer EV, expected to debut as a 2022 model year vehicle. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available and watch out for the reveal on May 5, 2020!
