J.D. Power recently announced the results of its 2020 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout study (APEAL), which looks at customer satisfaction with new vehicle purchases. Cadillac’s offerings impressed in this year’s study, with the Cadillac CT6 winning its segment while the CT5, Escalade, and XT5 finished second in their segments. Cadillac as a brand managed to beat out rivals Mercedes, Audi, and BMW in the study.
This follows an impressive showing for Cadillac in J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study. Cadillac won four of five vehicle segment awards, taking home the most segment awards among premium brands. The CT5 took home Midsize Premium Car honours, the CT6 won its Upper Midsize Premium Car segment, the XT4 was named top Compact Premium SUV, and finally the Escalade won its Large Premium SUV category.
J.D. Power is a global leader in consumer insights, data, and analytics. Their vehicle studies are well-known and measure metrics like quality, dependability, and performance of current new vehicles. With five awards so far and further studies yet to be released, 2020 has been Cadillac’s best year for J.D. Power Awards yet, surpassing the brand’s previous high of two dependability awards and one dealership service award in 2014.
