CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing: New Cadillac Performance Sedans Expected to Debut February 1

Save the date! GM Authority reports that the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing will be unveiled on February 1, 2021. Expect an online reveal to abide by COVID-19 safety procedures.

These two Blackwing variants are expected to be the ultimate in Cadillac performance, taking their place in the brand’s offerings as top-of-the-line luxury performance sedans. The Cadillac V-Series has been a trusted name in high-performance vehicles since the early 2000s, and we expect these Blackwing variants to expand on that legacy.

Sources suggest the CT4-V Blackwing, the smaller of the two vehicles, will feature a twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 engine, previously seen in the ATS-V. We’ll have to wait to see what the official specs are, but the ATS-V was able to generate 464 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque. The CT4-V Blackwing should meet or exceed those metrics.

The larger CT5-V Blackwing will likely feature a supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 engine, seen previously in the CTS-V where it produced 640 hp and 630 lb-ft of torque. Rumour has it the CT5-V will have the greatest output of any Cadillac ever built, so expect it to exceed previous CTS-V benchmarks.

In both vehicles, drivers will be able to choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a ten-speed automatic. Expect a long list of performance features like Magnetic Ride Control and carbon fibre racing seats, but we’ll have to wait until February 1 to see exactly what Cadillac has in store. Stay tuned for more information!
