What We Know so Far: The New Corvette Z06

Chevrolet has started teasing the All-New 2023 Corvette Z06, with an official reveal scheduled for October 26, 2021. What do we know so far about this exciting new Corvette Z06 evolution? We’ll take a closer look in today’s blog post.

Chevy has posted a promotional video showing what appears to be a professional driver behind the wheel of a camouflaged Corvette Z06, but official details are scarce so far. “All-New” is a big clue, however, and you can expect this to be a major revision. In addition to unveiling the vehicle on October 26, Chevy is also expected to announce when it will be available to the public.

Despite Chevrolet staying relatively quiet about their new Vette, there are a number of rumours circulating throughout the auto industry. First, it’s expected this new Z06 will be mid-engine, like the current C8 Corvette. Industry sources report the new Z06 will be powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 engine, a major change from the V8 small block found in the previous Z06 model. This will make the new Z06 track-ready and much more capable than the previous generation.

Sources also report the motor will featured a Dual OverHead Cam configuration, 32 valves, a flat-plane crankshaft, up to 9000 RPM, 615 horsepower, and 490 lb.-ft of torque. Keep in mind all these numbers are still rumours and Chevrolet has not confirmed anything beyond the existence of the new Z06 and its reveal date.

We are excited to see the All-New Corvette Z06 be officially unveiled on October 26 and we patiently await the day we see one on our dealership lot. Until then, stay tuned for more information.
