GMC’s electric offerings are expanding. The brand has given drivers a first look at the upcoming all-electric GMC Sierra pickup truck with a preview video that highlights the electric truck’s unique exterior lighting. The Sierra EV will debut with the iconic Denali trim, already a popular choice on the standard GMC Sierra.
This new electric pickup follows the Hummer EV, GMC’s first foray into the electric vehicle market. Like the Hummer EV, the Sierra EV will also use the Ultium platform. Ultium is a versatile and capable electric vehicle platform utilized by GM across its EV portfolio that allows for efficient battery technology and a customized approach to each vehicle. Of course, the Sierra EV will also include the premium materials and features GMC customers expect from their trucks.
“Sierra Denali holds tremendous equity for GMC and our customers. We now will have an opportunity to evolve Sierra’s capabilities and technologies, as afforded by transitioning to an all-electric propulsion, while also elevating the luxurious design and comfort Denali is associated with,” explained GMC Vice President Duncan Aldred.
GMC is expected to announce availability dates for the all-electric Sierra at a later date. In the meantime, talk to a Preston GM Sales Representative to learn more about our incredible lineup of trucks and electric vehicles!
