Camaro Sixth Generation Ends with Collector’s Edition

Chevrolet has announced that the sixth generation of the iconic Chevrolet Camaro will be retired at the end of the 2024 model year. After nine model years of production and hundreds of thousands sold, the final vehicles are set to come off the Lansing Grand River assembly line in January 2024.
The sixth generation of Camaro produced the fastest track time ever seen at GM’s Milford Road Course thanks to the 650 horsepower ZL1 1LE Camaro, beating a standard Camaro by a full three seconds.
To celebrate this storied vehicle nameplate, Chevrolet has announced a Collector’s Edition package that pays tribute to the first generation Camaro and its original codename of Panther. This edition features a new Panther Black Metallic Tintcoat paint, 20-inch Satin Black wheels, unique Panther badging, special floor mats, and more.
“For decades, Camaro loyalists have known the Panther codename lurk in the shadows of our history,” says Chevrolet Design Director Rich Scheer. “From the colours and tones selected, to panther representations used across the vehicle, the Collector’s Edition officially recognizes the significance of the codename and the sixth-generation car in Camaro canon.”
The 650 horsepower LT4-powered ZL1 Collector’s Edition will be limited to just 350 units in North America. It will also feature the first matte paint ever offered from the factory on a Camaro.
While a seventh generation has not been announced and it is not yet clear how the Camaro nameplate will be utilized going forward, Chevrolet has indicated the vehicle will live on in some capacity.
“As we prepare to say goodbye to the current generation Camaro, it is difficult to overstate our gratitude to every Camaro customer, Camaro assembly line employee and race fan,” says Global Chevrolet VP Scott Bell. “While we are not announcing an immediate successor today, rest assured, this is not the end of Camaro’s story.”
The 2024 Camaro lineup, including the Collector’s Edition, is set to become available for order this summer, with more information to follow. To get behind the wheel of a Camaro, get in touch with our Preston Sales Team.
