Government Electric Vehicle Incentives

Government Incentives for Electric Vehicles

Did you know that both the provincial government of British Columbia and federal government of Canada offer electric vehicle incentives? You can get a rebate of up to $8,000 when purchasing a new Chevrolet Bolt EV from Preston GM! Contact a Preston Sales Consultant to learn more or visit the program websites for additional information.

BC SCRAP-IT Program

The BC SCRAP-IT Program offers British Columbians incentives to scrap their high-polluting vehicles when they purchase a new electric vehicle. To be eligible, you must scrap a vehicle that has been insured within the last six months. New Chevrolet Bolt EV vehicles are eligible for incentives when you participate in the SCRAP-IT Program! In addition to great deals on electric vehicles, the program also allows participants to claim other incentives such as an electric bike or car share credit.

Ask us about government incentives on electric vehicles. EVs are eligible for rebates including $3,000 Clean Energy Vehicle (CEV) for BC rebate and $5,000 federal Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles program (iZEV). BC Ministry of Energy and Mines reserves the right to adjust the CEV incentive amount; the incentive may decline each 12-month period of the program. Federal iZEV funding will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Credit amounts will be prorated for leases with terms less than 48 months (or less than 36 months for BC CEV incentive). Limit one federal credit per person per calendar year. See cevforbc.ca and canada.ca/zero-emission-vehicles for program details.
